From Sydney and Manila to a global company-wide Collaboration & Performance OS — milestones in the Canva × Marlee relationship as Canva grew from 185 people to 6,000+ and a multi-billion revenue company impacting poverty directly in Africa.

Founding partnership — Contract signed

Canva pre-purchased 10,000 analyses and engaged Marlee (then F4S) across culture mapping, talent mapping, developing internal coaching methodology & hiring ICT team, People Growth @ Canva roadmap — onboarding, decision mapping, skills-pillars, Leadership Coaching, Leader as Coach Program, XFactor Modelling Excellence, and Canva Values launch.

Marlee (F4S) Subscription model launched — Canva grandfathered

Partnership renewal — the next chapter
Now
Every Marlee product feature launched since 2017 has been grandfathered to Canva. Each commitment achieved. With more than 8,000 Canvanauts who have been on Marlee and 6,443 active Canvanauts today, and 11,513 analyses taken — 15% above the original contract (with additional value of $136,000 not charged) — this is the moment to formalise the next chapter of our partnership.

How subscriptions work — important difference from seat-based tools
Billed on active subscriptions only — never on headcount or allocated seats
Marlee subscriptions are based on active Canvanauts in your Marlee Space — people who have been provisioned and are active. You are never charged for total headcount or seats that have been allocated but not used.
If your team grows
Additional subscriptions billed quarterly
New active Canvanauts added during the term are invoiced quarterly at your contracted rate — $9.59/sub/mo on annual plans, or $7.49/sub/mo if you are on the 3-year prepay. Your locked rate applies to growth, not just your starting base.
If headcount reduces
No charge for deprovisioned accounts
Canvanauts who leave are deprovisioned via your Workday integration. Those accounts are not billed. The contracted subscription count reflects your Marlee users at each quarterly reconciliation.
Full billing mechanics — quarterly reconciliation windows, active user definition, and invoicing triggers — are detailed in the Renewal Agreement.

A note from Michelle
Canva was there in the first year we launched F4S - well before Marlee had our first subscription model, before we led out with our crazy big AI goals we brought to market in 2019 and before we had a name anyone outside Australia would recognise. That first Canva x Marlee (F4S) contract was signed on trust — trust in motivation science, in each of our missions, and in what we might impact together.
Eight years later, over 8,000 Canvanauts have used Marlee as part of how they work, lead, and perform. 11,513 analyses taken since 2017. Many months above 90% monthly active Canvanaut users. That doesn't happen with tools people tolerate. It happens with tools people value, believe in and importantly rely on.
The pricing in this proposal reflects what Canva means to us: not only a customer, but a partner that proved aligned people can impact business and help solve some of the biggest problems on the planet.
